Big Sky is a unique, unincorporated community that straddles both Gallatin and Madison Counties. To compensate for the lack of a governing body, Big Sky has been organized into a collection of homeowner and condominium associations, road associations, non-profit and civic organizations, and government districts.  Many community members are part-time residents and are unfamiliar with the disbursement of community influence.
