BSOA BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance of the association, overseeing BSOA operations including financial management, community amenities, maintenance, architectural standards, and enforcement of covenants and restrictions. Board members work to improve both membership and community services while fulfilling the BSOA mission of preserving, protecting, and enhancing property values and quality of life in Big Sky. Meetings take place on the third Friday of each month at 9 am, typically lasting 2-3 hours. Members also serve on at least one committee aligned with their interests and expertise, with most committees meeting monthly. Preparation includes reviewing pre-meeting materials, participating in occasional events, and maintaining timely communication responsiveness. No prior board experience is required, though professional experience in areas such as property management, finance, law, real estate development, public policy and community organization is valuable. |
ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE:
The Architectural Committee (BSAC) is responsible for overseeing all construction, landscaping, and design approval processes within the BSOA jurisdiction to maintain community standards and aesthetic cohesion. Members review project submissions, ensure compliance with design regulations, and make decisions on architectural proposals. The committee meets twice monthly on the first and third Thursdays at 9 a.m., with sessions typically lasting 2-3 hours. Committee members devote additional time reviewing detailed project materials, site plans, and design specifications before meetings, and must remain responsive to inquiries and communications between sessions. Experience in architecture, construction, design, or landscaping is beneficial but not required. |
