​Executive Director

The Big Sky Owners Association is seeking an Executive Director to lead the oldest and largest homeowners association in Big Sky, Montana with over 2,400 member properties over 8,000 acres. The ideal candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations
  • Lead a team of staff members and execute the directives of the Board of Directors
  • Manage an annual operating budget exceeding $1.3m
  • Ensure compliance with governing documents, local ordinances, and state regulations
  • Represent the BSOA membership locally and regionally with government and nonprofit partners
  • Envision and manage programs and partnerships that meet members’ expectations for traffic management and pedestrian/bike pathways, environmental efforts including wildlife corridors and fire prevention/preparation, and providing timely and fair compliance and rule resolution between members.
  • Project management

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in property management, HOA administration and/or nonprofit leadership and operations
  • CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) certification preferred or willingness to get within 6 months
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
  • Excellent written communication and speaking skills with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to review, understand, interpret and operate under applicable articles of incorporation, covenants, codes, rules, regulations and bylaws including the enforcement thereof as appropriate
  • Experience with property management software

Compensation:
  • Competitive salary ($100,000- $130,000  based on experience)
