BSCC Projects
The Community Corporation covers a lot of ground (literally and figuratively), and we couldn’t do it without the help of many volunteers.  We have six volunteer committees and we want YOU – just contact the committee chair or learn more under the “Projects” tab of the website.

Big Sky Trails Committee – Advocates, plans, develops, builds, maintains, funds, and administers the public trail system for the greater Big Sky area.  Go wild on Big Sky Trails; contact Chairman John Leeper (lcclj@aol.com) to help with some of the 12 miles of local trails this committee is charged with maintaining.  .

Big Sky Parks Committee – Promotes awareness and appreciation for parks and open spaces in Big Sky and works to preserve, develop, and maintain these spaces.   With plans to develop our new 44-acre park to include a performing arts facility, in-ground skate park, and additional game fields, the Park Committee can use all the help it can get!  Contact Chairman Mitch Furr (mitchfurr@eralandmark.com).

Historic Crail Ranch Conservators – Preserves and maintains the Crail Ranch as a heritage property of Big Sky and the American West.  Contact Chairman Al Lockwood (aflockw@comcast.net) to help in one of the many areas the conservators are working:  summer events, docent training, vegetable garden, and other special projects.

Big Sky Softball League – Grows and enhances the game of softball in the Big Sky community.  Last year, over 15 teams and 200 locals participated in this most popular of Big Sky activities.  Call the Commissioner Eric Ladd (e.ladd@mac.com) for more information on softball.

Big Sky Community Tennis Association – Sponsors and promotes youth and adult tennis programs during the summer months.  Contact Chairman  Jacquie Persons (jacquie@riverstopeaks.com) to help out.

Camp Big Sky – Oversees the summer camp director in the planning, programming, policies, and logistics of summer camp programs in big Sky.  Katie Coleman is the lucky lone employee of the Big Sky Community Corporation and works as Camp Big Sky Director.  Give her a yell (kcoleman@3rivers.net) if you have ideas or want to help keep the kids busy this summer.

Last but not least are three Board committees created to make sure we operate in a manner that keeps our donors, our auditors, and the IRS happy.  Board committees include the Executive, Governance and Nominating, and Finance and Audit.  If you are having trouble sleeping and want to review the charters, call the office at 995-4166 and we’ll send you a copy.
